Research Engineer

Embedded Systems & Mechatronics Research

Conducted advanced academic research in real-time embedded systems, mechatronics, and verification & validation methodologies at Oakland University. This research phase built a rigorous, theory-grounded approach to system-level testing that directly informs my professional practice in automotive validation today.

Worked closely with faculty and peers to investigate embedded software reliability challenges, develop prototype test frameworks, and contribute findings to the department's engineering knowledge base.

  • Investigated real-time OS (RTOS) scheduling strategies and their impact on embedded software timing constraints and reliability.
  • Applied formal verification and validation methods to prototype automotive-adjacent embedded systems.
  • Built mechatronic prototypes integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components to validate system-level behaviour.
  • Produced research documentation, lab reports, and academic presentations to communicate findings to faculty and peers.
  • Collaborated on cross-disciplinary experiments spanning control systems, signal processing, and embedded firmware.
